Community Town Hall:
Supporting Social-Emotional and Mental Health Needs, and Serving Students with Special Needs

During this unprecedented time of remote learning and remote working, some top priorities of the Douglas County School District are to ensure that we are supporting the social-emotional needs of students, families, and staff, and to provide services and outreach to our students with special needs.

Please join Douglas County School District (DCSD) Superintendent Thomas S. Tucker, Ph.D. and special guests Scott Cypers, Ph.D., Director of Stress and Anxiety programs at the Helen and Arthur E Johnson Depression Center, DCSD School Board Director Christina Ciancio-Schor, and DCSD Personalized Learning Officer Nancy Ingalls for a community town hall meeting that you can join from the comfort of your own home.

NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

Special Education records which have been collected by Douglas County School District related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of special education in the district, must be maintained under state and federal laws for the period of five (5) years after special education services have ended for the student. Special education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, or completes his/her educational program at age 21, or moves from the district.
