Preschool Enrollment for Douglas County Preschool is a three-step process:

Initial Registration Request - start the registration process with a registration request, complete the online survey (see below).
The following documents and forms will be required for registration

  • Birth Certificate (state issued)
  • Current Health Appraisal
  • Immunizations (if your child has a personal or religious exemption please scroll down to the bottom for more information)
  • Proof Of Residency (Warranty Deed, Deed of Trust, current Property Tax Notice, Lease Agreement, County Assessor Page, or Notarized Proof of Residency letter from the person you are living with.
  • Medication Release Form (if necessary)

Placement Offer - after the initial registration request is submitted online, notification of a potential preschool placement, or not, will be emailed within 4-6 weeks from the time you submit the survey. Registration Email will contain the following: Placement, Link to Online Registration, and Deadline For Submission.

Online Registration Confirmation - Once you register and upload all required documents for your child through the online tool you will receive an email confirming the acceptance of your registration. In that email, you will receive a link to pay your $100.00 non-refundable Registration Fee (if applicable).

2022/2023 Preschool Registration will Open on January 31st!*

*Currently, enrolled students (21/22 School Year) will have a priority window which will open on January 14th, please watch your email for more details.  All students that are currently enrolled will need to re-enroll for preschool for the 22/23 School Year.

There is an eLearning option available for Preschool for the 21/22 School Year. Please click HERE if you are interested. Make sure to read through the linked survey very carefully. This is a full-year commitment with NO FLEXIBILITY to change back to in-person at any point during the 21/22 year.

Preschool Age Requirements
  • Children must be 3 years old to attend a DCSD Preschool program.
  • To apply now, your child needs to be 3 years old before 9/1.
  • If your child will be 5 years old by 10/1, your child is age-eligible for Kindergarten that school year and is no longer eligible to enroll in a DCSD Preschool program. For information about the DCSD Kindergarten program click here.
