Drivers

No commercial driving experience required.

Salaries starting at $24.92 per hour for CDL drivers.

Responsibilities 

Bus drivers are responsible for the transportation of students to and from schools and for various other District activities. As a transportation representative of DCSD, bus drivers develop and promote good community relations among various community and school clientele.

Other responsibilities include safety inspections, managing student conduct and safety on school buses, attending trainings, and more.

Qualifications

  • No prior bus driving or other commercial vehicle experience needed

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Valid Driver's License (Minimum 2 years)

  • Must have a clean Driving Record

  • Must pass pre-employment physical and drug test

  • Must pass Colorado and FBI background checks

  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • Must enjoy working with students

 

Transportation
Educational Assistants

No prior experience required.

Salaries starting at $19.21 per hour  

Responsibilities 

Transportation Education Assistants are responsible for monitoring special education students with moderate to severe needs and challenging or emotional difficulties on school buses. Assists with securing wheelchairs and other equipment. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community members and school clientele.

Other responsibilities include safety inspections, managing student conduct safety on school buses, attend trainings and more. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Must pass pre-employment physical and drug test

  • Must pass Colorado and FBI background checks

  • Must enjoy working with students

  • Must be at least 21 years old

NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

Special Education records which have been collected by Douglas County School District related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of special education in the district, must be maintained under state and federal laws for the period of five (5) years after special education services have ended for the student. Special education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, or completes his/her educational program at age 21, or moves from the district. This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Douglas County School District's intent to destroy the special education records of students who exited special education services as of June 30, 2016. These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the school district otherwise. After five years, the records are no longer useful to the district, but may be useful to the parent/guardian or former student in applying for social security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance, etc. The parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student may request a copy of the records by requesting the records at this link ( Douglas County School District Transcripts and Records Requests ).
