Personal InformationDCSD IT Security’s purpose is to help protect DCSD people, property, processes, network, data, and reputation. With the growing threat in cyber incidents including cyber crime, data theft, and stolen identities DCSD IT has recognizes a need to increase their security posture.

The IT Security mission is to protect DCSD digital data of employees, students, and parents by protecting their personally identifiable information (PII), training, tracking digital threats, and mitigating those threats as much as possible.


What You Can Expect

  • Ensuring DCSD complies with federal, state, and local laws and regulations concerning data security.
  • Computer Incident Response
    • Computer Forensics. Conducts forensics investigations and electronic discovery against DCSD devices suspected to have illicit data - including images, communications, or malware.
    • Network Forensics. Monitors the network using various tools to look for unusual activity, investigates such activity, and if needed takes steps to remediate the activity. Also conducts penetration testing against DCSD IT data and assets.
  • Training for DCSD employees concerning data security.
  • Develop IT Security Policies, Procedures, and Standards.
  • Web Filtering that complies with federal laws Available to deliver training for Parents.

Complaints regarding violations of Title VI, (race, national origin), Title IX (sex, gender), Section 504/ADA (handicap or disability), may be filed directly with the Office for Civil Rights, U.S. Department of Education, 1244 North Speer Blvd., Suite 310, Denver, CO 80204.
