ThunderRidge High School sophomore Nathan Denier is making a meaningful impact in the community through volunteering. Throughout his high school career, Nathan has completed an impressive 285+ service hours, spanning 18 different organizations and 22 service events!

Nathan has contributed to a diverse range of projects. He has packed food boxes for Food Bank of the Rockies; built structures like garden boxes, chicken coops, and shade structures for local churches and schools; helped Special Olympics families; planted trees and maintained trails for local and state parks; prepared food for families at the Ronald McDonald House; and assisted with a variety of sporting and holiday events throughout the Highlands Ranch community.

Trail workNathan ventured beyond his community last summer as a volunteer at Emerald Bay, a Boy Scouts of America camp located on a remote part of Catalina Island off the coast of California. There, he wore many hats: teaching merit badges, acting as a campsite host, serving meals, performing in campfire programs, lending a hand with waterfront activities, and providing excellent customer service to campers.

Nathan continues to seek new opportunities to give back, showcasing a genuine passion for helping others and a commitment to making a positive impact in the world. Thank you for your exceptional service, Nathan!

NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

Special Education records which have been collected by Douglas County School District related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of special education in the district, must be maintained under state and federal laws for the period of five (5) years after special education services have ended for the student. Special education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, or completes his/her educational program at age 21, or moves from the district. This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Douglas County School District's intent to destroy the special education records of students who exited special education services as of June 30, 2016. These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the school district otherwise. After five years, the records are no longer useful to the district, but may be useful to the parent/guardian or former student in applying for social security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance, etc. The parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student may request a copy of the records by requesting the records at this link ( Douglas County School District Transcripts and Records Requests ).
